Taiwanese-American Pianist DAVID LIN is an active soloist, teacher, and collaborator. Performing across the U.S., China, and Europe, Lin champions underrepresented composers alongside the great classical works. He received the Leonard Hokanson Chamber Music Scholarship and Artistic Excellence Fellowship from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music as a student from 2024-2026. During his undergraduate years, Lin discovered a passion for teaching. Since their founding in 2022, he joined Bravo Music Academy as a private instructor, and finds great satisfaction in mentoring the next generation of students as he prepares them for seasonal recitals, theory exams, and competitions.
As a collaborator, Lin has significant experience playing with string players, singers, and wind players. He is regularly invited to the Polish Home Association in Seattle, WA alongside colleagues to perform chamber music written by Slavic composers, and collaborates with youth choirs such as Bellevue Youth Choir, Beaver Lake Middle School, and Maywood Middle School choirs. Lin also has extensive experience as a ballet pianist. He has worked for the IU Jacobs Ballet department and Chautauqua School of Dance, collaborating with esteemed instructors Carla Körbes, Sasha Janes, and Michael Vernon among others for dancers ranging from complete beginners to pre-professional. Recent performances include a series of solo features as part of the Muffin Music M2 fellowship in the Santa Ynez Valley, Mozart’s Piano Concerto in E-flat major, K. 271 with Quartet Daedalus at the Quanzhou Grand Theater, and the world premiere of Brady Wolff’s Evoke Stardust for solo piano, recorded at the Georgina Joshi Recording Studio for publication by Abundant Silence.
David holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Washington-Seattle, and completed his Master of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2026. His mentors include Mr. Craig Sheppard, Mr. Chi Ho Han, Ms. Mia HyeYeon Kim and Mr. George Lykogiannis.
